The vision of the International Mission Board is to see a multitude from every language, people, tribe and nation knowing and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ

When Trouble Come

When we consider troubles and tribulation what does the world say.  The world’s view of tribulation and trials is that its punishment or that trials are to be despised.  The wisdom of the world says life is best when it is free of problems, stress and difficulties.  Even as Christians our flesh wants to agree with the world’s view.  But the Bible says to the believer, get ready for trials and to recognize they are good for the us because they produce endurance.  Hebrews 10:36 states: 36 “For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.”  Revelation 14:12 “here is a call for the endurance of the saints.” The need to endure, to persevere is a theme found throughout Scripture for Paul writes to Timothy “If we endure we will also reign with Him.”

Why is perseverance so important, Because the Christian life is difficult, and endurance is needed.  Suffering will happen. Trials can be expected. Loved ones die. Expectations are dashed. Children rebel. Spouses disappoint. Disease and sickness occur. Lockdowns happen. When troubles come, and they will come, James says when trials come not if they come, we are told to endure to persevere and we are told the results of endurance are good.  Also remember what Jesus said in Matthew 28:20b …“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
