“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” (Deuteronomy 7:9)

Pray for the Seba of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Seba, population 167,000, live in the southeastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Like the people groups surrounding them, they predominantly practice African traditional religion. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact location where the Seba live. Although Christian work is happening among other people groups in the general area, the IMB does not know if anyone is actively sharing the gospel among the Seba. Preliminary research indicates there are no Bible translations, gospel recordings or “JESUS” film in their language. Further research is needed to learn more about the Seba and their access to the gospel.

 Pray

  • Although we do not know much about the Seba, the Lord knows them and loves them. Pray Christ will be glorified in this people group.
  • ·   Pray that God would raise up laborers to share the gospel, make disciples and plant churches among the Seba.
  • Pray that many Seba people will commit their lives to Christ.

Praise God for His Faithfulness from 05th –18th June 2023

“In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:4 HCSB)

Sihanaka of Madagascar

The Sihanaka people number 611,000 and are located on the plateau in the center of the country, just northeast of the capital city of Antananarivo. This area is the country’s main source for the staple rice crop. Many outsiders visit and study the region, but no visitors are specifically focused on the spiritual welfare of the people.

Most Sihanaka people practice ancestor worship. Scripture resources in audio and written form are available; however, distribution is limited by the low evangelical presence in the area. There are churches in the area that need training in evangelism, discipleship and motivation in spreading the gospel throughout their homeland.

Pray

·       For Christians in the central area of the country to go to the Sihanaka region.

·       For openness to evangelical conversations.

·       For eyes to see the depravity of ancestor worship and the brilliance of worshipping their true Creator.

·       For researchers to find churches and offer further missional training.
