Fula Jalon of Mali
2025 Status Update
“A voice of one crying
out in the wilderness: Prepare the way for the Lord; make his paths straight!
Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be made low; the
crooked will become straight, the rough ways smooth, and everyone will see the
salvation of God.” (Luke 3:4–6 HCSB)
Challenges We’ve Faced
The
Fula Jalon are steeped in Islamic tradition. They consult men who use the
Quran’s incantations, use black magic to curse their enemies, and even seek
miraculous healing at a church in the region. We know of no churches or
believers among the Fula Jalon. However, they are intrigued by stories of the
prophets and Jesus’s ministry, as long as they align with the Quran’s message.
They show interest in the Old Testament’s sacrificial system and the concept of
one perfect sacrifice for the world’s sins.
Prayer Requests
·
Pray
for youth in the city to cast aside religious traditions and follow Jesus.
· Pray for the Fula Jalon to desire more than miracles from the church.
- Pray that they would listen to the stories of Jesus and follow him.
