Bangobango of the DRC

2025 Status Update

“Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)

In 2024, four Bangobango believers completed Bible school and learned translation skills. A     pastor who oversees Bible storying and translation said, “It’s hard to explain, but the                openness to the gospel among the Bangobango is different than in the neighboring tribes.         They listen attentively and respond to the message with understanding and commitment.”         When he heard about the prayer emphasis of the 55-in-5 initiative, he said, “That makes         sense, then! We need to pray for the other tribes, too!”

Prayer Requests

·       Praise God for the pastor who is following up on the work among the Bangobango.

·       Pray for the storying team that is sharing God’s Word among the Bangobango.

·      Pray for the Bible translation into the Bangobango language.

Manyika of Mozambique

2025 Status Update

23Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, 24knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23—24 HCSB)

We’ve seen amazing things happen among the Manyika. For example, Baptist pastors who had been going to the Manyika took up an offering to provide the materials for a wood-and- thatch shelter where a Bible study group could worship together. The Manyika Bible study group has since become a church, baptized 10 believers, and chosen a leader who will receive pastoral training. We’re asking God to grow strong believers who are called to be leaders of this church and many others.

Prayer Requests

·       Pray for the new church leader to grow in his calling, his ability to lead, and his ability to teach.

·       Pray that cross-cultural workers can wisely engage the Manyika.

·       Pray that the 10 new believers can be discipled well.

Kotokoli of Togo

2025 Status Update

“And he said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” (Luke 10:2)

Challenges We’ve Faced

An African missionary has been sharing Bible stories among the Kotokoli. As he has shared the Bible stories, a good number of Kotokoli have put their faith in Jesus, and they have recently planted several churches. The Kotokoli are learning Bible stories and sharing the gospel regardless of the persecution they face. Praise God for the incredible work He is doing.

Prayer Requests

·       Pray that these new believers will grow in their faith and boldly share the gospel with others.

·      Pray for the safety of the new believers.

·      Ask God to give more Kotokoli faith in him.

Suba of Tanzania

2025 Status Update

“It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees.” (Deuteronomy 17:19 NIV)

 Challenges We’ve Faced

The Suba are spread across Kenya and Tanzania. Their exposure to the gospel in these two countries has been vastly different. The Suba of Kenya, who gather in healthy, growing churches, went to research the Suba of Tanzania. They found some churches and believers in Tanzania, but most Suba practice a mixture of the prosperity gospel and African Traditional Religion. The need for more gospel proclamation and church planting among the Suba in Tanzania is great.

Prayer Requests

    •  Ask God to send Suba believers from Kenya to the Suba in Tanzania.
    • Pray for the few Suba believers to grow in their faith and witness.
    • Ask God to plant more churches among the Suba in Tanzania.
