Sonde of DR Congo
2025 Status Update
“17This became known to everyone
who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. Then fear fell on all of them, and
the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
18And many who had become believers came confessing and
disclosing their practices, 19while many of those who had practiced magic
collected their books and burned them in front of everyone. So they calculated
their value and found it to be 50,000 pieces of silver. 20In this
way the Lord’s message flourished and prevailed.’” (Acts 19:17-20 ESV)
How God Is Working
Most
Sonde claim to be Roman Catholic but have animistic beliefs. They practice
witchcraft and live in fear of evil spirits. However, Bible storying is bearing fruit in
the villages under the leadership of local pastors. Bible translators are also
making progress on a Sonde translation. They have finished the Gospels and are
moving forward through the Epistles.
How You Can Pray
· Pray for the safety of those engaging the Sonde in the villages, especially for the pastors.
·
Praise
God for the completion of the Gospels in the Sonde language.
· Pray that many more Sonde will come to Christ through the bold proclamation of His Word.
Praise God for His Faithfulness and Protection from
